Stamp designing - Right to vote for women

My final design for my 'Ghost Post' stamp
For one of my uni projects I had to design a stamp for an event that never occurred. I decided to pick the event: "What if women never gained the right to vote?"

I researched common imagery relating to key words such as vote, women rights, campaigning and protests. I then sketched and played with different colours and layouts for my different design ideas.
These 3 designs above where my initial ideas that I then altered after I showed them to fellow students and gained creative feedback. I thought all of these designs had their own specific qualities that stood out to me e.g. the bold colours, focal points or clear messages portrayed through the stamp design. However I kept developing and combining different ideas from these initial 'sketches' and later created my final stamp for the chosen theme; "What if women never gained the right to vote?".
